Pertamina: Aviation Fuel Stocks at Rendani Manokwari Airport Reach 200 Kilolitres
Manokwari, West Papua – PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has reported that aviation fuel stocks at Rendani Manokwari Airport in West Papua have reached 200 kilolitres, which is sufficient to meet flight operations for approximately ten days ahead.
Budi Setiawan, Manager of the Aviation Fuel Terminal (AFT) at Rendani Manokwari, stated on Sunday that aviation fuel reserves are secure, with stocks exceeding 90 per cent of tank storage capacity.
“This does not mean the fuel will be exhausted in ten days; rather, replenishment supplies will arrive before that period expires,” Budi explained.
According to him, average daily avtur distribution for air transport operations reaches 20–21 kilolitres (20,000–21,000 litres) and is not expected to increase ahead of the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri celebrations.
This situation reflects a declining trend in avtur consumption from early to mid-Ramadan 1447 Hijri compared with the previous year, although Pertamina remains prepared should demand increase.
“Data from the Airport Operations Unit (UPBU) Rendani shows more passengers departing Manokwari than arriving, so there are no additional flight operations,” Budi said.
Furthermore, AFT Rendani has positioned three specialist fuel tanker vehicles (refuellers) for avtur distribution to aircraft, staffed by five operators throughout the Eid 2026 holiday period. Daily health checks are conducted for all operating personnel as a precautionary measure to ensure smooth fuel distribution operations during the holiday travel season.
“Operator health is critical, which is why we provide medical staff daily,” Budi stated.
Herman Sujito, Head of Rendani Class II Airport Operations Unit (UPBU), noted that flight operations continue according to regular schedules as no requests for additional flights have been submitted by airlines.
UPBU Rendani Manokwari has opened a 2026 Eid Transport Command Centre for 18 days, from 13 to 29 March 2026.
The airport is also coordinating with the Meteorological, Climatological and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) to monitor weather conditions regularly.
“To date, no airline has requested authorisation for extra flights, so flight schedules are proceeding normally,” Herman said.
