Pelindo Chief's First Visit to Kijing Terminal: PTP Nonpetikemas Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening West Kalimantan Logistics
Jakarta – PTP Nonpetikemas Pontianak Branch – Kijing Terminal welcomed the maiden working visit of Pelindo Chief Executive Achmad Muchtasyar to Kijing Port in West Kalimantan on Thursday (26 February).
The terminal, operated by PTP Nonpetikemas since 1 August 2022, has continued to develop into a strategic international logistics hub in western Indonesia and serves as an economic lifeline for West Kalimantan.
Kijing Terminal is now capable of serving up to 15 vessels simultaneously, including large vessels with deadweight up to 100,000 DWT, thanks to pier depths of −15 metres and modern cargo handling facilities. This strategic role has also had a positive impact on increasing production volume and cargo throughput, which have grown significantly in recent years.
The visit represented a strategic opportunity to ensure all port operational activities and development proceed according to plan and align with strategies for improving performance and optimising national logistics assets.
The event was attended by Desty Arlaini, Senior Vice President of Business Performance & Asset Optimisation Cluster Logistics at PT DAM, the Pelindo Regional 2 General Manager in Pontianak, the Chief Executive of Pelindo Multi Terminal Subholding, the Chief Executive of SPSL, the Chief Executive of PTP Nonpetikemas, and other Pelindo Group management, as part of efforts to strengthen coordination and synergies across lines within the Pelindo Group port ecosystem.
As the operator of Kijing Terminal, PTP Nonpetikemas Pontianak Branch reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining reliable operational service, workplace safety, and improving terminal productivity to support smooth logistics flow in West Kalimantan, particularly in Mempawah District and surrounding areas.
PTP Nonpetikemas Chief Executive Indra Hidayat Sani stated that the Pelindo Chief Executive’s visit provided positive momentum for all PTP Nonpetikemas personnel to strengthen the role of Kijing Terminal as a strategic logistics hub in western Indonesia.
“The visit of the Pelindo Chief Executive represents genuine attention and real support for the development of Kijing Terminal. For us at PTP Nonpetikemas Pontianak Branch, this is an opportunity to ensure that every aspect of operational, service, and terminal development runs optimally and aligns with Pelindo’s overall transformation,” Indra said.
Indra further emphasised that Kijing Terminal holds a strategic position as one of West Kalimantan’s key ports, which is expected to continue growing as a driver of regional economy.
“We are committed to making Kijing Terminal an efficient, reliable, and competitive terminal. Through improved operational performance and asset optimisation, we are confident that this terminal can drive more efficient logistics flow, open new business opportunities, and create sustainable economic impact for the people of West Kalimantan,” he added.
PTP Nonpetikemas Pontianak Branch will continue to strengthen collaboration with all stakeholders, including regulators, service users, and business partners, to ensure Kijing Terminal develops as a modern logistics centre supporting regional and national economic growth.
