Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq Arrives at KPK Building Following Anti-Corruption Sting Operation
JAKARTA — The Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) has confirmed that Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq, along with his aide and associate, has arrived at the KPK’s Red and White Building headquarters in Jakarta following a dawn Corruption Sting Operation (OTT) conducted in Semarang, Central Java, in the early hours of Tuesday, 3 March 2026.
According to Kompas.com’s observation, Fadia and two others arrived at the Red and White Building at 10:22 Western Indonesian Time, transported in a black KPK vehicle. However, the three individuals did not enter through the front entrance but rather through the rear entrance.
KPK officials stated that the sting operation targeting Fadia Arafiq relates to procurement activities within the Pekalongan District Government. “We will provide full details regarding procurement in various government agencies,” a KPK spokesperson said.
The investigative team is continuing to apprehend additional individuals linked to the operation. “We also urge all parties involved to cooperate fully to assist in case proceedings, so that the current investigation phase can proceed effectively,” the spokesperson added.
KPK confirmed that during this closed investigation, the team secured multiple individuals in the Pekalongan region of Central Java, including the regent. “The team then brought them to Jakarta for further examination,” the official stated.
The KPK indicated that investigations remain in the preliminary stage, with comprehensive details about the specific government agencies involved in the procurement violations to be revealed in due course.
