Pegadaian Sends Over 4,000 Homebound Travellers to Their Home Villages
Pegadaian has facilitated the departure of more than 4,000 homebound travellers from various regions across Indonesia through the “Comfortable Homebound Travel with Pegadaian” programme. This initiative forms part of Pegadaian’s efforts to support the public in celebrating Eid al-Fitr with family whilst enjoying safe and comfortable travel.
Damar Latri Setiawan, Director General of PT Pegadaian, noted that homebound travel represents an important tradition for Indonesian society, steeped in values of togetherness and familial bonds. “Through the Comfortable Homebound Travel with Pegadaian programme, we wish to ensure the public can return to their hometowns safely and comfortably. Pegadaian aims to be present not merely as a financial institution, but also as a community partner supporting their journey to reunite with family,” Setiawan stated in a written statement on Tuesday (17 March 2026).
The homebound travel programme constitutes one expression of Pegadaian’s commitment to “Always Being Present”. Through this ethos, the company delivers not only financial services to the public, but also serves wholeheartedly, contributing to the generation of social benefits for society.
Ensuring Safe and Comfortable Travel
This year, Pegadaian has again participated in the flag-off ceremony for “Comfortable Homebound Travel with Danantara 2026”, held today at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), Jakarta. To ensure journeys proceed safely and comfortably, Pegadaian provides various transport modes for participants, ranging from executive buses, trains, to maritime transport in accordance with each participant’s route.
Participants also receive various supporting facilities including pre-departure health checks, homebound kits, and assistance during the departure process.
Pegadaian additionally ensures the public continues to access company services during the Ramadan and homebound travel season. Through the Tring application, the public can access various Pegadaian services digitally, from pawning transactions to other payments, ensuring Pegadaian’s services remain accessible at any time and anywhere.
The Comfortable Homebound Travel with Pegadaian programme also forms part of the company’s commitment to implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, particularly in the social dimension. The programme aligns with the company’s support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 11, Sustainable Cities and Communities.
In this regard, Pegadaian endeavours to benefit the public by supporting safe public mobility and promoting a more inclusive and sustainable transport system during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr season.
Beyond the homebound travel programme, Pegadaian also offers various services to assist the public during Ramadan. One such programme is Interest-Free Pawning, wherein customers can obtain benefits including exemption from capital rental or mu’nah fees for up to 60 days, valid until 30 April 2026.
