Pegadaian distributes more than 900 sacrificial animals across Indonesia for Eid al-Adha 1447 H
PT Pegadaian distributed 913 sacrificial animals for Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah, comprising 212 cattle and 701 goats. This is consistently carried out as a tangible expression of the company’s social concern and commitment to its Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programme. All sacrificial animal aid was distributed evenly through the Head Office, Regional Offices, Area Offices, Branch Offices, and involving partnered ecosystems such as Pegadaian-managed Waste Banks and assistance to several Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) across various regions. The involvement of these Waste Banks adds strategic value by strengthening environmental partnerships and empowering local communities.
“This annual distribution activity, carried out with employees, is a form of gratitude for the company’s positive operational performance and our commitment to being present within communities. We hope that through this Eid al-Adha opportunity, the trust placed in Pegadaian staff will provide equitable food benefits to those in need, particularly around our operational areas,” said Eka Pebriansyah, Director of Network and Operations at PT Pegadaian.
Specifically, the Head Office coordinated the distribution of 65 cattle and 39 goats. The remainder was widely distributed through 12 Regional Offices to ensure the benefits of the sacrificial animals extend beyond the capital and reach all regions of Indonesia.
Eka also stated that all distributed sacrificial animals underwent a selection process to ensure safety and suitability for consumption. Through this programme, Pegadaian aims to strengthen community bonds while enhancing the company’s social value in line with the Brilian Ways spirit of unity.
Previously, on Friday (29 May), Pegadaian’s Rohis (Islamic Affairs Unit) distributed a total of 22 sacrificial animals, yielding approximately 4,500 high-quality meat packages. These packages were distributed precisely to eligible recipients, including the needy and local communities.
Through the Eid al-Adha 1447 H occasion, Pegadaian has implemented its Social pillar commitment under ESG. This action represents a tangible contribution to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2: Zero Hunger.
By distributing a total of 913 sacrificial animals, Pegadaian strategically targets the delivery of high-quality animal protein-based food to underprivileged communities, the poor (dhuafa), and those living near operational units.
