Pecatu builds more hotels

JAKARTA (JP): PT Bali Pecatu Graha, a tourist resort developer in Bali, has signed an agreement with ANA Hotels International of Japan to jointly develop and manage a four-star hotel in Jimbaran.

The planned hotel, to be called ANA Hotel Bali, will be ANA's first in Bali and second in Indonesia, Pecatu said in a statement yesterday.

The US$80 million hotel project is scheduled to open by the year of 2000. The four-star hotel will have 400 rooms.

ANA Hotels is affiliated with Air Nippon Airways, which ranks among the world's top 10 airlines in passenger volume.

Pecatu, controlled by businessman Hutomo (Tommy) Mandala Putra, owns a 650-hectare plot in Jimbaran which is being developed into a $1.6 billion integrated tourist resort.

The company has previously collaborated with Westin Hotels and Resorts of the United States to develop and manage another luxurious hotel on the southwestern coast of Bali. (icn)
