Peak Return Traffic on 24, 28, 29 March; Jasa Marga Suggests Shifting Journeys to 25-27 March
JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk has urged the public to plan their Lebaran 2026 return journeys by avoiding the predicted peak congestion dates of 24, 28, and 29 March 2026. Managing Director Rivan A. Purwantono stated that outbound traffic from Jabodetabek remains high, with 210,209 vehicles recorded leaving the area on H+1 after Lebaran, marking a 57.3 per cent increase from the normal 133,637 vehicles. Based on this trend, the public is advised to schedule their return trips to avoid traffic density. “Given the continued high outbound traffic from Jabodetabek up to H+1 Lebaran, Jasa Marga urges those still in their hometowns to plan their return to Jabodetabek by avoiding the peak return flow predicted for 24, 28, and 29 March 2026,” Rivan said in a statement on Monday (23/3/2026). “For road users with flexible schedules, they can shift their return to Jabodetabek during the WFA implementation period to prevent vehicle density during peak return times,” he added. Meanwhile, Jasa Marga is offering a 30 per cent toll discount for journeys on 26-27 March 2026, applicable on nine Jasa Marga Group toll roads under a continuous travel scheme. This policy is expected to promote more even traffic distribution and reduce potential congestion on toll routes. “To avoid vehicle build-up, we urge the public not to travel during peak times such as mornings and evenings, and to anticipate potential density on routes to tourist destinations,” Rivan said. Toll road users are advised to ensure drivers and vehicles are in prime condition and roadworthy, prepare provisions, and confirm sufficient fuel and electronic money balances. Additionally, users are asked to obey traffic signs and follow on-site officer instructions. “Also, use time wisely by not lingering too long at rest areas to allow turns with other road users,” he concluded.
