Jasa Marga predicts that the wave of Idulfitri 1447H return traffic will continue to increase until the end of this weekend, 28-29 March 2026. As of Friday (27/3), a total of 2.36 million vehicles, or around 69.45% of the total projection of 3.39 million vehicles, have returned to the Jabotabek region.

Jasa Marga President Director, Rivan A. Purwantono, reminded that the high volume of vehicles at the end of this weekend will directly impact density at several points, especially at rest areas along the Trans-Java Toll Road towards Jakarta.

“The potential for an increase in return traffic is still estimated to occur during the weekend period. We apologise for the inconvenience to road users affected by the density at several toll road points,” said Rivan during a press conference at the Command Center KM 29 PJR Korlantas Polri, Friday (27/3).

Jasa Marga has identified several rest areas that are likely to experience high density, including KM 229B and KM 208B on the Palikanci section, as well as KM 164B on the Cipali section. As a solution, return travellers are urged to utilise alternative rest areas that have more space.

“Road users can utilise rest areas before the dense points, such as at KM 360B and KM 380B on the Batang-Semarang section, or afterwards at KM 130B on the Cipali section. If the rest areas on the toll road are full, do not force entry. Road users can temporarily exit to arterial roads to rest and re-enter the toll road without additional charges,” explained Rivan.

In addition, at the discretion of the Police, Jasa Marga will implement an open-closed scheme at rest area KM 62B and situational temporary closure at KM 52B on the Jakarta-Cikampek section to alleviate vehicle queues.

Functional Japek II South and Travoy Application

To distribute traffic from the Bandung direction, Jasa Marga has also functionally opened the Jakarta-Cikampek II South Toll Road (Japek II South). This step is expected to reduce the load of density that usually occurs at the KM 66 junction on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road.

Rivan also emphasised the importance of using the Travoy application as a digital travel assistant. Through this application, return travellers can monitor real-time traffic conditions, check rest area capacity, and availability of petrol stations and SPKLU (electric vehicle charging stations). Furthermore, Rivan reminded the public traversing the one-way engineering route to remain disciplined. He stressed that the right lane and road shoulder on the one-way route are not for overtaking.

“Still use the left lane if you want to move slowly. Ensure the driver’s physical condition and vehicle are in prime condition, as well as sufficient electronic money balance to avoid hindering the journey at toll gates,” he concluded.
