Peak Return Flow of Idul Fitri on Muara Enim Jalinsum Busy but Smooth
Palembang (ANTARA) - The peak return flow of Lebaran Idul Fitri 1447 Hijriah/2026 on the Jalinsum in Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra (Sumsel), was crowded with vehicles but did not cause significant traffic jams. Observations on Jalinsum in Talang Taling Village, Gelumbang Subdistrict, Muara Enim Regency, on Tuesday (24/3) around 16:00 WIB showed many vehicles from returning holidaymakers passing through the route. The flow of two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles was bustling from Palembang City to various destinations in Sumsel, such as Prabumulih, Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regency, Muara Enim, Lampung Province, and Bengkulu. Although many two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles were passing through, the traffic flow was monitored to be safe and smooth, with no significant vehicle build-up on the route. He admitted to preferring the lower route over the toll road because it was more economical, and it allowed stopping by relatives’ homes in Talang Taling Village. “If going via the toll, besides having to spend extra costs, we also can’t stop in Talang Taling. Alhamdulillah, the traffic flow is still smooth. Maybe Jalinsum will be crowded with vehicles tonight,” he said. Meanwhile, Erma, the owner of a lesehan eatery in Talang Taling Village, said that the Eid mudik and return flow was a blessing in itself because many holidaymakers stopped by for lunch. “Just this afternoon, my eatery was busy with visitors. Maybe more than 100 people stopped by to rest while having lunch,” said Erma. “All task forces in the Early Warning System (EWS) are currently increasing the intensity of activities,” he said. He added that the Preemptive Task Force recorded 158 activities, while the Kamseltibcarlantas Task Force reached 136 activities, the highest in recent days. Preventive activities, law enforcement, and operational support, he continued, are also running consistently to maintain security stability and traffic smoothness. On that occasion, the South Sumatra Police Chief advised the public to prepare their journeys well to arrive safely at their destinations. “Get enough rest, check vehicles, and monitor traffic information. Contact 110 if you need assistance during the journey,” said South Sumatra Police Chief Sandi Nugroho.
