Peak Return Flow, BPH Migas: Fuel Supply in Lampung Maintained
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Badan Pengatur Hilir Minyak dan Gas Bumi (BPH Migas) has stated that the supply of fuel (BBM) in the Lampung region remains maintained amid the increased mobility of the public during the peak return flow of Eid 2026.
Erika Retnowati, a member of the BPH Migas Committee, stated in Jakarta on Monday that the increased public mobility during the Eid 2026 return flow has also led to a rise in energy needs, particularly fuel (BBM).
“One of them is the Lampung region as the main route connecting Sumatra and Java islands. Energy availability is key to ensuring the public’s journey remains comfortable,” she explained.
To ensure the smooth distribution of BBM during the peak return flow of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H, Erika conducted monitoring at the Integrated Terminal (IT) Panjang, Bakauheni Port, bulk LPG filling and transportation stations (SPPBE), and public fuel filling stations (SPBU) in Lampung Province on Saturday-Sunday (28-29/3).
At Bakauheni Port, Erika focused on the smooth operation of ferry crossings.
Intensive coordination was carried out with PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) to support the energy supply for the ferry fleet amid the high volume of passengers.
“We are coordinating closely with ASDP to ensure the smooth bunkering of ship fuel. Currently, the supply is in a safe condition, so we are optimistic that ferry services for the public will run smoothly without issues,” said Erika, who also serves as Chair of the National Post for the Energy and Mineral Resources Sector (ESDM) during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr (RAFI) in 2026.
Erika then inspected the storage facilities at IT Panjang, which serves as the backbone of energy distribution in the region.
Out of a total of 21 storage tanks, 12 are partially operational, while the remaining nine are undergoing revitalisation to maintain safety standards and operational reliability.
This step is also part of strengthening energy infrastructure in Lampung.
“The focus is on improving the quality of tanks at IT Panjang that have reached their renewal period. The target is for those nine tanks to be fully operational this year to strengthen long-term energy resilience in Lampung,” said Erika.
She also explained that petrol usage has increased in line with the high use of private vehicles by the public.
Meanwhile, diesel consumption has decreased due to operational restrictions on non-logistics goods transport vehicles during the Eid holiday period.
Erika also inspected the SPBU at the Lampung Toll Rest Area Km 87, which is one of the crucial points for return travellers.
“The stock is more than sufficient for all types of BBM products. We ensure the supply remains safe and controlled for the public who are on their return journey,” she said.
In addition, supervision was also conducted at SPPBE to directly check the availability of LPG during the Eid al-Fitr period.
On that occasion, Erika emphasised the importance of maintaining energy supply stability, particularly LPG, during the Eid return flow.
“For LPG, there is no significant increase. It seems that many people are returning to Java or North Sumatra regions. So, for LPG specifically in Lampung, there is no significant rise,” she stated.
