Peak Night of the 2026 Digital Connectivity Appreciation Event Highlights Drivers of Access to Remote Areas
The Peak Night of the 2026 Digital Connectivity Appreciation event, as a form of recognition for parties contributing to the expansion and equitable distribution of digital connectivity in Indonesia, including underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost regions (3T), was held at The Sultan Hotel in Jakarta on Friday, 17 April 2026.
This event highlights the roles of local governments, institutions, communities, and individuals in delivering inclusive digital access down to the grassroots level.
In her speech, the Minister of Communication and Digital (Menkomdigi), Meutya Hafid, stressed the importance of cross-sector collaboration in promoting equitable digital connectivity in Indonesia.
“This is to show that the government cannot work alone; we need cooperation with many parties. I was deeply moved; earlier, there were so many people from various elements, whether from schools, community health centres, then friends from the TNI, and of course the industry with their extraordinary cooperation with the government. This makes it easier for government steps to ensure that this connectivity can run well throughout the regions,” said Meutya.
She also expressed appreciation to all parties involved in organising the event.
“Hopefully, the cooperation between the government, industry, and society can continue to guide so that our connectivity gets even better,” she said.
Encouraging the Spirit of Collaboration and Digital Education
The 2026 Digital Connectivity Appreciation Jury Council, also the General Chairman of the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII), Muhammad Arif, assessed that this event serves as motivation for stakeholders who have been striving for digital connectivity development in Indonesia, especially in infrastructure.
“This is motivation for stakeholders who have been fighting to truly champion Indonesia’s digital connectivity, particularly in infrastructure,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Jury Council who is also the Senior Instructor at the Training and Development Centre of the Ministry of Communication and Digital, Farida Dwi Cahyarin, emphasised the importance of the roles of field drivers in increasing public understanding of the significance of digital connectivity.
“What is very important is that these parties trigger or encourage the surrounding community to understand, in other words, to know how our connectivity is very important,” she explained.
Objective and Data-Based Judging Process
The assessment in this event was conducted by a jury council from various backgrounds, starting from government elements, academics, to professionals. The selection process was carried out strictly against hundreds of candidates, considering real contributions in the field.
