YOGYAKARTA – Vehicle traffic on the Jogja–Solo Toll Road is predicted to increase significantly during the Lebaran holiday travel period.

Yhanni Haryanto, Finance Director of PT Jasamarga Jogja Solo, stated that under normal circumstances, traffic on the toll road is estimated to reach approximately 14,000 vehicles daily. However, during peak periods such as Lebaran Day (Hari H) or Lebaran Day Plus One (H+1), traffic typically increases substantially.

“The normal prediction is approximately 14,000 vehicles per day. However, on peak days such as Lebaran Day or H+1, there is usually an increase,” Yhanni told Kompas.com on 10 March 2026. “The increase could potentially raise the number of vehicles passing through to between 15,000 and 16,000 vehicles in a single day.”

To anticipate potential traffic congestion, toll road management will collaborate with police authorities in regulating vehicle flow. One option available is adjusting the operating hours of functional toll roads if conditions on alternative national routes become too congested.

“For example, if national routes become very congested, the toll road operating hours could be adjusted,” Haryanto stated. “Like last year, due to traffic congestion, the toll road was opened during the night. However, such decisions remain based on police discretion.”

Currently, functional toll segments such as the Purwomartani-Prambanan section are scheduled to operate from 06:00 to 18:00 Western Indonesian Time during the Lebaran holiday travel period. With these arrangements, vehicle traffic on the Solo–Yogyakarta route is expected to remain manageable despite the significant increase in vehicle numbers.
