PDG Acquires Land in Bekasi to Build Giant 240 MW Data Centre
Indonesia’s digital transformation roadmap is becoming increasingly solid with the influx of large-scale investments in cloud computing infrastructure. Princeton Digital Group (PDG), Asia’s regional data centre giant, has officially announced the acquisition of strategic land in the Jabodetabek area to build its newest hyperscale campus, JC4. This move not only affirms Indonesia’s position as a magnet for the digital economy in Southeast Asia but also marks the growth of PDG’s portfolio capacity, now reaching 400 MW. The addition of 240 MW through this project positions Indonesia as one of the main pillars in the global digital infrastructure ecosystem managed by PDG. The selection of the GIIC location was not without careful consideration. The JC4 campus is only about 1.7 kilometres from PDG’s previously operational JC3 campus. This geographical proximity is a smart strategy for integrating the utilisation of electrical resources and connectivity. With this integration, operational resilience and cost efficiency can be maintained optimally. This facility is specifically designed to accommodate high-density computing needs, which is now the primary demand in AI-based data processing and cloud services. PDG Chairman, CEO, and Co-Founder Rangu Salgame emphasised that this expansion is a response to the trust of large-scale customers in the company’s capabilities to execute projects in dynamic markets. “Indonesia remains a key market for digital infrastructure in Southeast Asia. The presence of JC4 strengthens our portfolio in providing reliable and scalable capacity to support future computing workloads,” said Rangu in a written statement received by Kompas.com on Tuesday (5/5/2026). Amid energy crisis issues and global warming, PDG is striving to align capacity growth with environmental responsibility. The JC4 campus implements state-of-the-art cooling systems and strict resource management. The use of solar panels at the project site and refrigerant management programmes are standard practices implemented to reduce daily operational carbon footprints.
