Patuh Operation 2026 focuses on modern and measured law enforcement
The Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas) will enforce stricter traffic laws during the Patuh Operation 2026, running from 8 to 22 June.
Chief of Korlantas Polri, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, stated that enforcement will be modern and measured, with 60% electronic tickets (ETLE), 30% manual tickets, and 10% sympathetic approaches.
“The dominance of ETLE enforcement is a strategic step to ensure objective, transparent, and accountable law enforcement,” he said in a statement on Monday in Jakarta.
He added that ETLE will use static, mobile, and drone cameras to automatically record traffic violations.
In addition to electronic enforcement, Agus said officers will issue manual tickets selectively for visible violations likely to cause fatal accidents, such as driving against traffic flow, using mobile phones while driving, underage riders, not wearing SNI-certified helmets, failing to use seatbelts, and over-dimensional or overweight vehicles.
“A humanistic approach remains integral to the operation through educational campaigns, public awareness initiatives, and sympathetic warnings to enhance public awareness and traffic compliance culture,” he said.
Through this tightened enforcement policy, he hopes the public will become more disciplined in adhering to traffic rules, significantly reducing violations and accidents to ensure safety, security, order, and smooth traffic flow across Indonesia.
