Patikraja Sub-District Launches Gapura Kencana Business Licensing Service to Assist MSME Operators
BANYUMAS – In an effort to simplify and bring business licensing services closer to the public, the Patikraja Sub-District Government has opened Gapura Kencana, a business licensing counter operated by the sub-district. Gapura Kencana is an innovation and implementation of the Integrated Sub-District Administrative Service (PATEN), which delivers public services at the sub-district level. Residents wishing to obtain a Business Identification Number (NIB) no longer need to travel to Purwokerto.
Patikraja Sub-District Head Andiono said Gapura Kencana is a business licensing service provided by Patikraja Sub-District to assist and simplify the licensing process for the public. The service brings licensing closer to the community, particularly for micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) operators in Patikraja Sub-District seeking their NIB.
"The Business Identification Number (NIB) is the official identification issued to every business operator in Indonesia. The NIB is required for processing permits through the Online Single Submission (OSS) system and serves as the business operator's identity in conducting their business activities. To obtain an NIB, business operators must register through the OSS system," he explained.
Andiono added that Gapura Kencana is intended to help, simplify and bring business licensing services closer to the people of Patikraja, so they no longer need to travel to the Banyumas Public Service Mall to process their licensing, particularly the NIB.
"We all know that there are still members of the public, especially MSME operators, who are not comfortable with technology. So we help them if they have difficulty creating an email address, entering data and so forth. We take a proactive approach, or they simply need to come to the Sub-District Office," he added.
The innovation also supports the vision and mission of the Banyumas Regent and Deputy Regent for 2025–2029, namely to realise a Productive, Just and Prosperous Banyumas, with a Bureaucratic Service System that is Fast, Easy, Transparent and Solution-Oriented.
"The benefits of this innovation for the Sub-District Government include improving public services, supporting local economic growth and enhancing coordination with business operators. For the public, it provides ease in starting a business and opens access to various government programmes and assistance. For the Regency Government through the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Agency (DPMPTSP), it improves service efficiency, extends service reach and encourages public legal compliance," he continued.
Banyumas Regent Sadewo Tri Lastiono expressed his appreciation for the Gapura Kencana innovation, which is an Organisational Performance Change Action (APKO) initiative from the 2025 Administrator Leadership Training (PKA) programme in Banyumas Regency. He noted that innovation does not necessarily have to take the form of an application.
"I welcome this innovation from the Patikraja Sub-District Head. Innovation does not have to come through an application — it can be anything that simplifies and accelerates services for the public," said Sadewo.
