BANYUMAS – The Patikraja Sub-District Government has launched a service innovation called Gapura Kencana, an acronym for Gerai Perizinan Berusaha Kecamatan Patikraja (Patikraja Sub-District Business Licensing Counter). The initiative aims to simplify and bring business licensing services closer to the community, particularly for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) operators in the Patikraja area.

Gapura Kencana is an implementation of the Integrated Sub-District Administrative Service (PATEN), which enables residents to obtain a Business Identification Number (NIB) without having to travel to Purwokerto or the Banyumas Public Service Mall (MPP).

Patikraja Sub-District Head Andiono explained that Gapura Kencana was established to assist the community with licensing matters. "This service brings licensing services closer to the community, particularly Business Identification Numbers (NIB) for MSME operators in Patikraja Sub-District," he said.

Andiono added that the NIB is an official identification that every business operator in Indonesia is required to hold. "The NIB is needed to process permits through the Online Single Submission (OSS) system, which serves as the business operator's identity in conducting their business activities. To obtain an NIB, business operators must register through the OSS system," he explained.

The innovation also targets community members who are still unfamiliar with technology, particularly MSME operators. "We all know that there are still community members, especially MSME operators, who struggle with technology. So we help them if they have difficulty creating email accounts, entering data, and so on. We take a proactive approach or they simply need to come to the Sub-District Office," Andiono added.

The Gapura Kencana innovation is aligned with the vision and mission of the Banyumas Regent and Vice Regent for 2025-2029, namely to Realise a Productive, Just and Prosperous Banyumas, with a Bureaucratic Service System that is Fast, Easy, Transparent and Solution-Oriented.

Andiono outlined the comprehensive benefits of the innovation:

For the Sub-District Government: Improving public services, supporting local economic growth, and enhancing coordination with business operators.

For the Community: Gaining ease in starting businesses and opening access to various government programmes and assistance.

For the Regency Government through DPMPTSP: Improving service efficiency, expanding service reach, and encouraging public legal compliance.

Banyumas Regent Sadewo Tri Lastiono expressed his appreciation for the Gapura Kencana innovation. He emphasised that innovation need not always take the form of applications. "I welcome this innovation from the Patikraja Sub-District Head. Innovation does not have to be through applications, but rather something that can simplify and accelerate services to the community," Sadewo said.

The innovation is part of the Organisational Performance Change Action (APKO) for participants in the 2025 Administrator Leadership Training (PKA) programme in Banyumas Regency.
