Passengers in Return Flow at Kampung Rambutan Dominated by Those from West Java
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Return passengers arriving at Kampung Rambutan Terminal in East Jakarta during the 2026 Lebaran transportation period were dominated by those from West Java, accounting for 32.5% of total arrivals. Based on data from the terminal operator received on Friday, the number of passengers from West Java is estimated to reach around 9,400 out of a total of 29,055 passengers who arrived during the period from 11 to 26 March 2026. Kampung Rambutan Terminal Controller Mulyono stated that the high number of passengers from West Java is influenced by the close proximity to Jakarta and the many bus route options from that region. Besides West Java, passengers from Central Java ranked second with 23.9% or around 6,900 passengers, followed by Banten at 11.3% or around 3,200 passengers. Arrivals at Kampung Rambutan Terminal also came from other regions such as East Java at 9.6%, South Sumatra at 9%, and West Sumatra at 6.9% of total arrivals during this year’s Lebaran transportation. The data indicates that Kampung Rambutan Terminal remains one of the main land transportation nodes for returnees heading back to Jakarta, particularly from Java and Sumatra regions. During the return flow period, the terminal operator continues to monitor passenger movements and bus fleets to ensure smooth operations and safety for service users. Additionally, the terminal operator coordinates with security apparatus and onward transportation operators such as Transjakarta and JakLingko to support the mobility of newly arrived passengers in Jakarta. Mulyono added that the return flow is expected to continue until the end of the weekend as more returnees gradually make their way back after the Lebaran holiday.
