Jakarta (ANTARA) - Pasar Minggu Community Health Centre in South Jakarta has revealed the initial condition of Ameera Ramadhani, the newborn dumped by her brother Zidan in a nasi uduk cart on Tuesday afternoon (3 March). ‘At first examination, the umbilical cord stump had not yet fallen off. The baby was somewhat lethargic due to being outside the room. However, overall, she was normal,’ said Ma’mun Zaini, head of Pasar Minggu Health Centre, when contacted in Jakarta on Friday.

He said after being evacuated from the discovery site, the baby was immediately taken to Pasar Minggu Health Centre to receive medical care in the maternity ward with an incubator. ‘The condition at that time was monitored as good, she was examined by a doctor, and a blood test was performed that night,’ Ma’mun added.

‘The baby was checked again on March 4, in good condition. She was kept under observation in the incubator and given formula every two hours. The baby was also bathed and dressed in baby clothes and equipment provided by the health centre. Alhamdulillah, her condition continued to improve and she was healthy,’ Ma’mun noted.

The health centre also carried out comprehensive health checks to ensure the baby’s condition, including blood sugar, blood type, and tests for HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis.

After being confirmed healthy, the baby was then picked up by officers from the Social Service’s Pelayanan, Pengawasan, dan Pengendalian Sosial (P3S) for further handling. ‘The Social Service team visited the Health Centre on March 4 at 12:00 WIB. Then, on March 5, around 13:00 WIB, the baby was picked up by P3S officers from the Social Service. We have completed the handover process of the baby,’ Ma’mun said.

Earlier, a live two-day-old baby girl was found in a nasi uduk cart in front of a resident’s house on Jalan Pejaten Raya, RT 01/02, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, on Tuesday afternoon (3/3).

Pasar Minggu Police Sector Chief Kompol Anggiat Sinambela said the baby was found at 17:30 WIB and reported to police at 17:43 WIB.
