Partnering with Jasaraharja Putera, ASDP Offers Free Homecoming Travel to Eastern Indonesia
Lebaran is always a meaningful moment for Indonesian society to return to their hometowns and gather with family. PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) is taking an active role by presenting a free homecoming ticket programme in Eastern Indonesia, running from 16-28 March 2026.
This programme is part of ASDP’s support for government policies, as well as a concrete effort to provide more equitable and affordable transportation access, especially for communities in island regions that heavily depend on ferry services.
ASDP’s President Director, Heru Widodo, stated that this initiative focuses not only on service aspects but also on the value of fair access for all society.
“We want to ensure that ferry services are not only operationally reliable but also inclusive and accessible to all levels of society. Through this programme, we hope that people in the eastern regions can experience easier and more comfortable homecoming travel,” said Heru in a written statement on Wednesday (18/3/2026).
Through collaboration with PT Jasaraharja Putera (JRP Insurance), this free homecoming programme is intended for economy-class foot passengers, with a total of 1,635 beneficiaries.
The service is distributed across several strategic branches, including Ambon (Namlea-Masarete return route), Selayar (Bira-Jampea return route), Sorong (Sorong-Fakfak return route and Sorong-Folley return route), Biak (Biak-Manokwari and Biak-Nabire), Bajoe (Maccini Baji-Pulau Sabutung return route and Maccini Baji-Pulau Balang Lompo return route), Ternate (Babang-Saketa return route and Sanana-Mangole return route), and Bitung (Bitung-Mangaran return route).
Meanwhile, President Director of PT Jasaraharja Putera, Abdul Haris, stated that this collaboration is a tangible manifestation of the company’s efforts to provide peace of mind for homecomers.
“JRP Insurance’s involvement in the Free Homecoming programme with ASDP is part of our responsibility to ensure passenger access in Eastern Indonesia. We understand that homecoming is not just a physical journey, but a journey of hope to meet family,” emphasised Abdul.
“Therefore, we are here to serve wholeheartedly by providing reliable insurance protection, so that society can carry out the Safe Homecoming, Sharing Hope procession without worry,” he added.
Strengthening Connectivity
To participate in this programme, users simply need to register at the port at least one day before departure by showing official identification such as KTP, Family Card (KK), or driving licence.
After verification, officers will issue a manual ticket stamped ‘Free Homecoming Ticket’, which is then used for check-in and boarding according to the schedule.
ASDP Corporate Secretary Windy Andale explained that the registration mechanism is designed to be simple for easy access by the public.
“We ensure the process is practical and inclusive, so that society can optimally utilise this programme,” clarified Windy.
To maintain order and fairness, the programme is limited to a maximum of four people per family. Issued tickets cannot be sold, transferred, or cancelled.
Each passenger must also bring matching identification at departure as part of the verification process.
Through this programme, ASDP hopes to continue providing services oriented towards public needs, while strengthening inter-regional connectivity. With support from various parties, it is hoped that homecoming travel for the public, especially in Eastern Indonesia, can proceed safely, smoothly, and comfortably.
