Pangkalpinang Immigration Office hands over passports to 1,074 prospective Hajj pilgrims
Pangkalpinang (ANTARA) - The Class I TPI Immigration Office in Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, has handed over passports to 1,074 prospective Hajj pilgrims (calhaj) across the Bangka Belitung Islands, as a form of public service to those performing the Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca.
“Today, we are directly handing over passports to prospective Hajj pilgrims,” said the Head of the Pangkalpinang Class I TPI Immigration Office, Ahmad Khumaidi, while seeing off the departure of calhaj at the Babel Hajj Hostel in Pangkalpinang on Friday.
He stated that the handover of Hajj passports to 1,074 calhaj from Bangka Belitung Islands Province this year is conducted for each departure of calhaj from Depati Amir Airport in Pangkalpinang to the embarkation point in Palembang, South Sumatra.
“Today, we are handing over passports directly to 445 calhaj, consisting of 202 men and 243 women, who are departing to the embarkation point in Palembang, South Sumatra,” he said.
“Before departing to the holy land, these calhaj must undergo health checks from the Hajj Health Unit (BKK) to ensure they are fit to perform the Hajj pilgrimage in the holy land,” he added.
He hoped that the Hajj pilgrims would always keep their Hajj documents safe, ensuring that passports and other documents are not lost or damaged, which could disrupt the series of Hajj rituals in the holy land later.
“We ensure that these passports are secure and hope that the prospective Hajj pilgrims can perform their worship in the holy land safely, enjoyably, and return safely, becoming accepted Hajj pilgrims,” he said.
