PAM Jaya's new services
JAKARTA (JP): Consumers of the city-owned PAM Jaya tap water company will not have to queue to pay their monthly bills as they can pay them at the nearest Bank DKI or post office, or use the mobile post service from next month.
The consumers will only have to take their invoice, which will be sent to them by PAM Jaya, to the bank or post office, anywhere in Jakarta. The invoice will contain the exact amount the consumers have to pay to PAM Jaya, Syamsu Romli, PAM Jaya president, announced yesterday.
A total of 430 counters at the bank and post offices in Jakarta will be made available to PAM Jaya consumers, and payments can be made before the 25th of each month.
The counters have their own schedule as follows: From Monday to Thursday, post office counters will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., while the banks' counters will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 3 p.m.
On Friday, the banks' counters will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and the counters at the banks will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
On Saturday, post office counters will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The bank's counters are all closed on Saturday.
Syamsu said that PAM Jaya will also impose minimum fees on consumers. This means PAM Jaya consumers, like those of electricity and telephone companies, are charged a certain amount of money regardless of the amount of water they use.
With the imposition of the new minimum fees next month, the monthly administration fees of Rp 1,000 will be abolished.
The new policy, effective from next month, is one of PAM Jaya's effort to improve services to consumers. (yns)
