PAM Jaya Confirms Electricity Disruption at Pejompongan II Water Treatment Plant Resolved
PAM Jaya Chief Executive Officer Arief Nasrudin confirmed that the technical fault affecting the operational system of the Pejompongan II Water Treatment Plant (IPA) has been resolved. However, the water distribution normalisation process is still underway.
Previously, a technical fault occurred in a 1250 kVA transformer causing disruption to the operational system of the Pejompongan II Water Treatment Plant located on Jalan Penjernihan in central Jakarta on Friday, 13 March 2026 at 02:15 WIB. This fault resulted in reduced or temporary halting of water supply to numerous customers across several Jakarta districts.
The affected areas comprised multiple neighbourhoods across central, west, south and north Jakarta, including Grogol, Kebon Kelapa, Pasar Baru, Karang Anyar, Kartini, Mangga Dua Selatan, Setiabudi, Karet, Karet Kuningan, Karet Semanggi, Kuningan Timur, Pasar Manggis, Menteng Atas, Menteng Dalam, Manggarai, Senayan, Rawa Barat, Kuningan Barat, Karet Tengsin, Petojo Selatan, Kampung Bali, Kebon Kacang, Kebon Sirih, Gondangdia, Menteng, parts of Pegangsaan, parts of Kwitang, parts of Senen, Petamburan, Kota Bambu, Slipi, Tomang, Kebon Melati, Palmerah, Kemanggisan, Sukabumi Utara, Duri Kepa, Tanjung Duren Utara, Tanjung Duren Selatan, Kebon Jeruk, Kedoya Selatan, Wijaya Kusuma, Jelambar Baru, Jelambar, Grogol Utara, Grogol Selatan, Gelora, Bukit Duri, Manggarai Selatan, Kampung Melayu, Ancol, Pekojan, Roa Malaka, Pinangsia, Petojo Utara, Duri Pulo, Pejagalan, Pluit, Kalianyar, Jembatan Besi, and Penjaringan.
“The fault has been successfully resolved at 06:23 this morning. However, the water distribution normalisation process to customers will still require time as supply is restored gradually to normal levels,” said Arief Nasrudin in a written statement on Friday (13/3/2026).
Arief Nasrudin extended an apology to customers for the service disruption caused by the technical fault at the Pejompongan II water treatment plant.
“We understand that water supply is a basic necessity for the community. All operational teams have been placed on standby to ensure the distribution recovery process runs optimally so that water supply to customers can return to normal. PAM Jaya is also preparing service support for customers during the recovery process,” he said.
As a commitment to customer service, PAM Jaya has arranged free water tanker delivery for household customers and emergency situations such as hospitals, places of worship, and social foundations. Requests for water tanker services can be submitted through the PAM Jaya Call Centre at 1500 223.
“PAM Jaya apologises for the inconvenience caused and continues to work on optimal handling so that service can return to normal,” he concluded.
