PAM JAYA has resumed its free water tank distribution programme for Jakarta residents, now reaching its third implementation point. A total of 270 free water tanks were distributed to the community in North Jakarta at the Integrated Child-Friendly Public Space (RPTRA) Angke Interaktif, Penjaringan Subdistrict, North Jakarta, today.

Previously, the programme has been implemented in stages. In the initial phase, 100 tanks were distributed to residents in the Padamulya area, Angke, West Jakarta, in January 2026. Then, at the second point, 150 tanks were again channelled to residents in Kamal Ward, Kalideres Subdistrict, West Jakarta, in February 2026. Entering this third point, PAM JAYA continues the aid distribution for residents in the North Jakarta area.

On this occasion, 270 tanks were distributed to several areas in North Jakarta, including Dewa Ruci (43 tanks), Kelapa Gading (25 tanks), Muara Karang (111 tanks), Sunter (41 tanks), and Yos Sudarso (50 tanks). The event was also filled with the symbolic handover of aid and direct inspections of recipients’ homes where the tanks have been installed.

PAM JAYA’s Operations Director, Syahrul Hasan, stated that this programme is part of ongoing efforts to expand access to clean water services. All Jakarta residents in various areas should be able to enjoy a better quality of life.

“The free water tank distribution is a short-term solution for residents in areas with low water pressure. We continue to strive to increase service coverage through infrastructure development and free new connection programmes for eligible communities,” Syahrul said in his statement on Wednesday (15/4/2026).

According to him, this free water tank distribution programme is very meaningful for Jakarta residents. Until now, many capital city residents still buy water and do not have water storage facilities.

In this regard, PAM JAYA is collaborating with TP PKK DKI Jakarta, which has concern for Jakarta residents, especially women. Women are the pillars that have long nurtured and managed family needs.

“This collaboration with TP PKK DKI Jakarta will continue to be strengthened by us. With these water tanks, mothers can properly care for their families because water needs are met. This collaboration is proof that synergy can directly impact community welfare,” Syahrul explained.

This programme is a follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between TP PKK DKI Jakarta and PAM JAYA Women’s Power on Social Assistance for Jakarta Residents. Throughout 2026, PAM JAYA targets the distribution of 2,000 units of 300-litre free water tanks in stages across all Jakarta areas.

In addition, this programme targets simple households, especially customers in categories 2A1 and 2A2 with building areas under 70 square metres.

One of the beneficiaries, Apsiah, expressed the direct benefits of the aid. This aid is very useful because she previously did not have a place to store water.

“The price of these tanks is also very expensive if bought. Alhamdulillah, I got it for free. Now we can store water when the flow is available, so daily needs are more assured,” she said.

Through this collaboration, PAM JAYA together with TP PKK DKI Jakarta hopes to continue providing real solutions for the community while accelerating equitable access to clean water in the capital.
