PAM JAYA Aims to Distribute 2,000 Free Water Tanks to Jakarta Residents by 2026
Jakarta’s state-owned water company, PERUMDA Air Minum PAM JAYA, aims to distribute 2,000 free water tanks throughout 2026. This program will continue as part of the company’s commitment to providing equitable access to clean water for Jakarta residents.
PAM JAYA’s Director, Arief Nasrudin, emphasised that providing clean water is not limited to piped networks but also ensuring that water can be stored properly in customers’ homes.
“We understand that access to water is not only about piped networks but also about how water can be stored and used effectively. Through this free water tank program, we want to help families in Jakarta have a safer and more stable water reserve, especially in areas far from the supply,” said Arief in a statement on Wednesday (February 25).
This program is a follow-up to a Memorandum of Understanding between the DKI Jakarta Provincial TP PKK and Daya Wanita PAM JAYA regarding community social assistance.
The target recipients are customers in categories 2A1 and 2A2 with building areas of less than 70 square metres, to ensure that the program reaches those who need it most.
He added that, in addition to the free water tanks, PAM JAYA is also running a free new connection program for the same customer category.
“The target of 2,000 water tanks by 2026 is a form of our commitment to ensure that the benefits are felt more widely and equitably,” he said.
The initial phase of the program has provided 100 water tanks in Padamulya, Angke, West Jakarta. Most recently, 150 water tanks were distributed to residents of Kamal Village, Kalideres District, West Jakarta. Further distribution will be carried out gradually to other areas.
The review and handover of assistance were also attended by the Chair of the DKI Jakarta TP PKK, Hani Pramono Anung, and the Vice Chair of the TP PKK, Dewi Rano Karno. (Far/P-3)
