Pagelaran General Hospital to Launch Oral Surgery Services in June 2026
Cianjur (ANTARA) - Pagelaran General Hospital (RSUD) in Cianjur Regency, West Java, will open oral surgery services scheduled to begin operations in June 2026, to facilitate better healthcare access for the community in the southern region.
Director of Pagelaran General Hospital, Irvan Nur Fauzy, in Cianjur on Friday, stated that the hospital has submitted a request for specialist dentists and oral surgeons to ensure services can operate as targeted in June next year.
The application for specialist doctors is being made through the Ministry of Health’s Specialist Doctor Utilisation Programme (PGDS). Through this programme, doctors who have completed their training are assigned according to regional needs.
“Pagelaran General Hospital, as a secondary care facility, cannot provide non-specialist dental services, so general dentists cannot accept referrals and provide BPJS services in the hospital because all such areas are handled at community health centres or clinics,” he said.
This situation has resulted in the hospital being unable to provide dental services to the community or incoming patients for several months due to the vacancy of specialist dentists and oral surgeons.
Meanwhile, the number of patients requiring such services, particularly from various areas in southern Cianjur, is quite high, so the hospital is ensuring that oral surgery services can operate in June.
To date, he added, the hospital continues to complete various healthcare services and improve health quality to serve the community in the Pagelaran area and surrounding regions.
“This Type D hospital continues to strive to provide flagship medical services for its patients, including dermatology and venereology, obstetrics and gynaecology, ear, nose, throat, and head-neck surgery, internal medicine, and various paediatric patient services,” he said.
In addition, comprehensive emergency obstetric and neonatal care (PONEK) services are currently operational with 24-hour emergency services. These services are focused on pregnant women, childbirth, postpartum care, and newborns to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates.
