P Pertamina Distributes 4,400 Sacrificial Animals During Eid al-Adha 2026
P Pertamina Group distributed over 4,400 sacrificial animals during Eid al-Adha 2026. The animals, contributed by Pertamina employees and the company itself, were distributed across operational areas nationwide. More than 46% of the sacrificial animals were cattle, with the remainder being goats and sheep. VP Corporate Communications at PT Pertamina ( Persero), Muhammad Baron, stated that the sacrifice ritual is not only a religious obligation but also a means to strengthen empathy, unity, and Pertamina’s social responsibility towards local communities around its operational areas. ’ Pertamina slaughters thousands of cattle and goats that are entrusted by employees and the company. The meat is then distributed to communities in need around operational areas,’ Baron said in a written statement on 28 May 2026. The annual sacrifice of animals during Eid al-Adha at Pertamina’s operational units and offices is a longstanding tradition. ’ Eid al-Adha is not about the number of animals sacrificed, but an opportune time to share and demonstrate care for others. We hope this sacrifice benefits the community and further strengthens the relationship between the company and the public,’ he added. In addition to animal sacrifices, some Pertamina operational units traditionally hold Eid al-Adha prayers, which are attended by employees, their families, and local communities. Baron emphasised that Eid al-Adha celebrations also strengthen ties between employees and communities, which he highlighted as crucial for creating a conducive work environment and operational productivity.Through this initiative and other social programmes, Pertamina aims to provide tangible benefits to communities and strengthen social bonds as a core foundation of the company. Eid al-Adha at Pertamina is not merely a celebration but an opportunity to enhance unity, compassion, and broader social contributions. ‘With a spirit of sharing and solidarity, Pertamina remains committed to its primary mandate of ensuring national energy security while implementing social and environmental responsibility programmes to benefit communities and the environment,’ Baron concluded.
