JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) stated that more than 470,000 new Keluarga Penerima Manfaat (KPM) will receive social assistance (bansos) in the second quarter of 2026. Gus Ipul explained that this change occurred due to the updating of the National Single Social-Economic Data (DTSEN), which has been carried out by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). Changes to the beneficiary list occur every quarter. “For this second quarter, there are more than 470,000 new beneficiary families receiving assistance in the second quarter, whereas they did not receive aid in the first quarter,” said Gus Ipul at the BP Jamsostek Building, South Jakarta, on Friday (8/5/2026). He stated that changes in beneficiary data are a normal occurrence. “There are certainly changes to the Keluarga Penerima Manfaat. Although the majority remain the previous KPM recipients,” said Gus Ipul. He continued that the Ministry of Social Affairs, together with the Central Statistics Agency and local governments, continues to collaborate in updating the DTSEN, which serves as the guideline for aid distribution. To date, more than 70,000 Village Data Operators have been involved in the data update process. The updated beneficiary data is then entered into the Ministry of Social Affairs’ Next Generation Social Welfare Information System (SIKS-NG). This application is connected to district/city and provincial social services, the Ministry of Social Affairs, and the DTSEN managed directly by BPS. “So through this application, we can measure proposals from the regions, data updates from the regions, and also, of course, monitor the socio-economic developments of each beneficiary family,” said Gus Ipul.
