In tune with our topic, we Primary 3 students went on a field trip to Taman Buah Mekarsari, or the Mekarsari Fruit Orchards, in Cileungsi.
The journey took us about three-quarters of an hour.
We climbed up a tower that was about 40 meters high. The view of the fruit orchards was beautiful and spectacular, it was green and dotted with fruits all around us.
The whole orchard is about 264 hectares. A little train took us around the orchards.
Our next stop was the green house where lemons, guavas, oranges and vegetables grew in abundance. Some of us planted some tomatoes and eggplants too. We watered our plants with care.
After that, we set off to the hydroponics area. This is where the process of growing plants is done in water or sand rather than soil.
There were hundreds and hundreds of melons there. The melons were not yet ready to be picked.
The starfruit garden was out of this world. Everyone joined in and picked the starfruits. We had a lot of fruit.
The rambutan orchard came next. There were rambutans all over. It was raining rambutans!
After that, we went to the coconut lagoon, too.
We got in to the cute little train and toured the rest of the orchard.
We went to the riverside and had lunch and fruit just freshly picked.
The trip to Taman Wisata Mekarsari was indeed enjoyable for all.
We would like to share our wonderful experience with other primary students and encourage them to visit the Mekarsari Orchards.
It was a fruit paradise!
