Operation Ketupat: Tangerang City Metro Police Offer Free Vehicle Parking
Tangerang City Metro Police has made available free vehicle parking for residents planning to return to their hometowns during Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026. The initiative has been implemented to guarantee public safety during the major holiday period.
Police Chief of Tangerang City Metro Kombes Raden Muhammad Jauhari announced the measure whilst leading the Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026 roll call at Tangerang City Metro Police headquarters on Thursday, 12 March 2026. The operation involves 1,859 combined personnel.
“We have established seven operational posts comprising one security post, five service posts, and one integrated post, distributed across the jurisdiction of Tangerang City Metro Police,” Jauhari stated in his briefing on Friday, 13 March 2026.
The security operation also involves the Indonesian Armed Forces, Tangerang City Government, and various community resources to ensure smooth travel flow and public activities during the Eid holiday. As part of their public service commitment, Tangerang City Metro Police is providing free vehicle parking for residents travelling home.
“For residents planning to return home who wish to leave their vehicles in a secure location, we are offering free parking services at both police headquarters and police substations. Motorcycle parking is specifically available at the police substations,” he added.
This service is intended to provide peace of mind for residents leaving their homes for an extended period during the Eid holiday. During the operation, law enforcement has also been instructed to monitor potential disruptions during the homecoming period, including natural disasters.
Tangerang City is a strategic focal point in the national homecoming traffic flow. The area serves as a primary transit route for travellers heading to Java or bound for Merak Port for crossing to Sumatra. Consequently, traffic security and traveller services remain the primary focus for law enforcement in the region.
The police chief also urged the public to prepare physically and ensure their vehicles are roadworthy before undertaking long journeys. Additionally, residents have been advised to inform neighbours and local security of any unoccupied properties to prevent criminal activity.
“Should residents require police assistance during their homecoming journey, they can contact the national police call centre at 110, which is available nationwide and toll-free,” he concluded.
