Opening LCC of the Four Pillars of the Indonesian MPR in South Sumatra, Muzani Emphasises the Importance of Education
“Today we commemorate National Education Day as a form of our spirit in preparing Indonesia’s future through education,” said Muzani in his statement on Saturday (2/5/2026). Muzani emphasised that since Indonesia’s Independence Proclamation, the nation’s founders have committed to enhancing the intelligence and quality of life of the people through education. According to Muzani, the progress felt to this day, including in regions like Palembang, is inseparable from the ongoing process of education. “Development progress in various regions, including Palembang, occurs due to the continuous and sustainable process of education,” said Muzani. Muzani explained that the LCC of the Four Pillars of MPR RI is not merely a competition, but also a means to instil national values in the younger generation. Muzani described the participants as national ambassadors who have the responsibility to safeguard Indonesia’s noble values. “You are not just participants, but national ambassadors who must love the country, understand the constitution, and preserve ancestral values,” Muzani stressed. Muzani also elaborated on the importance of understanding the Four Pillars of Nationhood, namely Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia (UUD NRI 1945), the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. To the younger generation, Muzani conveyed five important matters: safeguarding Pancasila, respecting the constitution and democracy, nurturing unity in diversity, becoming a moral digital generation, and daring to dream big with realistic steps. “There is no Indonesia without Pancasila, and no Pancasila without Indonesia. What must safeguard Pancasila is all of us,” said Muzani. “Be a moral digital generation capable of using technology to unite, not divide,” he added. Muzani hopes that South Sumatra’s representatives can achieve the best performance at the national level. “We hope South Sumatra can become the national champion and produce a generation of national leaders who understand and love national values,” said Muzani. On the same occasion, South Sumatra’s Deputy Governor Cik Ujang expressed appreciation and thanks to MPR RI for organising the event focused on strengthening national values for the younger generation. Cik Ujang views this activity as having a strategic role in instilling understanding of the Four Pillars of MPR RI. Cik Ujang also emphasised the importance of understanding Pancasila, UUD NRI 1945, NKRI, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika as the foundation of national and state life. “This activity plays an important role in instilling and strengthening the younger generation’s understanding of national values. The Four Pillars of MPR RI are the main foundation in national and state life,” said Cik Ujang. Cik Ujang also stressed that the younger generation, especially students, should not only excel intellectually but also possess strong character and national spirit. “Through this activity, we hope to produce a South Sumatra younger generation that excels not only intellectually but also has strong character, national spirit, and the ability to maintain the unity and integrity of the Republic of Indonesia,” said Cik Ujang. To the competition participants, Cik Ujang advised them to participate with full enthusiasm and uphold sportsmanship. “Make this event a means to hone abilities and broaden national insights,” he urged. For information, this event is attended by 90 participants and 18 accompanying teachers from nine schools that successfully passed the South Sumatra Provincial Level LCC, namely SMAN 4 Ogan Komering Ulu, SMAN Sumatera Selatan, SMA Ignatius Global School Palembang, SMAN 1 Gelumbang, SMKN 1 Prabumulih, SMAN 1 Tebing Tinggi, SMAN 3 Prabumulih, SMAN Tugumulyo, and SMAN 1 Tanah Abang.
