JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Minister of Public Housing and Settlement (PKP) Maruarar Sirait said that implementing the Open Shop Selection System (PTT) within the Subsidy Programme for Self-Help Housing (BSPS) in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) could save the state budget by as much as 11 per cent. He made the remarks during the launch of the BSPS Regional Bali, Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, and North Maluku programmes at Anggrek Posyandu, in West Lombok Regency, NTB, on Tuesday, 19 May 2026. The launch was conducted together with the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, who tapped a gong to mark the ceremony, which was connected both offline and online with several BSPS locations in Bali, East Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, and North Maluku. The event also coincided with the implementation of PTT as part of strengthening governance of the BSPS programme that is transparent, effective, and accountable. He said the efficiency of the budget from implementing the system is expected to be redirected to expand the benefits of the housing programme for low-income communities. PTT at Anggrek Posyandu is under the responsibility of the Head of the Centre for Human Resources Development, Iriyanto. In the open-selection process, several hardware stores involved include TB Surya Anugerah owned by Muliadi, UD Geria Bangunan Mandiri owned by Agus Suharto, and TB Usaha Baru owned by Devi. The BSPS programme is one of the government instruments to improve the quality of homes for low-income people through a subsidy scheme for construction and for improving owner-occupied dwellings that are fit for habitation. He also expressed appreciation to all PKP Ministry staff, regional governments, and all parties supporting the BSPS home-improvement programme. The regional BSPS launch is expected to strengthen central–regional synergy in accelerating the provision of decent housing, improving living standards, and supporting equitable housing development in eastern Indonesia.
