In just one year, the leadership of Regent Moch Maesyal Rasyid and Vice-Regent Intan Nurul Hikmah has brought a fresh breeze to residents of Tangerang Regency. Various flagship programmes rolled out are no longer merely promises, but concrete achievements directly felt by communities in their daily lives.

Memed Chumaedi, an academic from Muhammadiyah University Tangerang, assessed the performance of this pair as extraordinary. “One year is indeed not long, but its impact has already been felt strongly in the community. From free school transport that makes it easier for children to study, to nearly universal coverage of BPJS Health’s Universal Health Coverage (UHC),” he said on Thursday, 26 February 2026.

The Tangerang Regency administration under Maesyal-Intan has not been idle. More than 150 kilometres of road sections have been maintained and upgraded in quality. Concreting of roads connecting different areas continues to be accelerated, facilitating residents’ movement and goods distribution.

New drainage spanning more than 20 kilometres has been constructed to reduce flooding and flood risks. Additions to public street lighting have been focused on vulnerable points, making evenings safer and more comfortable.

Small and medium enterprises (UMKM), as the backbone of the regional economy, have received special attention. The administration has facilitated 5,000 halal certificates and business identity numbers free of charge, making it easier for business actors to penetrate wider markets.

Capital access has been expanded, with many UMKM successfully moving up. It is no wonder that this sector manages to absorb up to 60 per cent of the workforce in this regency, concrete evidence that grassroots economics are growing stronger under this leadership.

Education has become the top priority. The free private school programme is now targeted at a minimum of one in each sub-district. The Tangerang Smart Scholarship opens opportunities up to bachelor’s degree level, and even overseas studies.

The result? The average length of schooling for residents of Tangerang Regency now reaches 9.8 years, surpassing the average for Banten Province. Children of Tangerang now have greater opportunities to realise their dreams.

In the health sector, remarkable achievements have been recorded: BPJS Health’s UHC coverage has exceeded 98 per cent, and Tangerang Regency has even won the UHC Award 2026. The stunting rate has been reduced to 7.3 per cent, exceeding national targets. Mobile ambulance services are now reaching residents more quickly and extensively. Health is no longer a burden, but a fulfilled right.

Administrative matters have changed dramatically. Handling of identity cards and other documents can now be done at sub-district level and completed in one day. Community complaints via social media are immediately followed up rapidly.

Sri, a resident of Cikupa Sub-district, could not hide her satisfaction. “Thank God, e-KTP services are now very quick. Come to the sub-district office, just wait, and the documents are delivered to your home. It really makes things easier,” she said.

Regent Maesyal Rasyid emphasised his commitment, stating that his administration will continue to improve itself for the sake of the community. He invited everyone to support this development together so that Tangerang Regency becomes increasingly prosperous, competitive, and just for all residents.

One year of Maesyal-Intan’s leadership has proven that with hard work and dedication to the people, real change can happen. Tangerang Regency now moves forward more confidently towards a brighter future.
