One-Way System Tentatively Implemented Based on Traffic Density: Check the Plan and Locations
Kakorlantas Polri Irjen Pol Agus Suryonugroho stated that a partial one-way scheme has been implemented on the Trans-Java Toll Road to alleviate return traffic density heading to Jakarta on Friday morning (27/3/2026). The first phase of traffic engineering was opened from KM 132 to KM 70. Agus explained that the step was taken after vehicle density began to be detected at several return traffic points, especially ahead of the peak vehicle movement from the east towards Jakarta. Korlantas prepared a gradual scenario to keep traffic flow distribution under control. “This morning at 07.30 we have already conducted direct clear socialisation, so we implemented the first phase of one-way from kilometre 132 to kilometre 70. This is the first phase,” said Kakorlantas at the Korlantas Command Centre KM 29, Cikampek. He explained that the implementation of return traffic engineering is not done all at once, but is arranged gradually according to the vehicle flow generation in the field. The initial phase is focused on return vehicles from Trans-Java to Jakarta that are starting to experience slowdowns. Korlantas, said Agus, has also prepared options to expand the one-way if vehicle flow increases in the afternoon to evening. Subsequent phases can be expanded from KM 169 to KM 70, then KM 188 to KM 70, and even to KM 263 if traffic conditions require it. He added that the prepared scenario does not stop at local one-way. If indicators of vehicle movement at the Kalikangkung Toll Gate continue to increase approaching 4,000 vehicles, Korlantas opens the possibility of implementing a national one-way on the same day. “If the situational indicator from the Kalikangkung Gate is already nearly 4,000, it is also possible that we will open a national one-way today, still possible,” said Agus. Monitoring of return traffic, he continued, is not only focused on vehicles from Trans-Java. Korlantas is also monitoring vehicle flow from West Java and Banten, including vehicle movement from Trans-Sumatra entering Java Island via Cikupa.
