Ombudsman RI: Inter-agency collaboration supports airport public services
Jakarta (ANTARA) — The Indonesian Ombudsman (ORI) has emphasised the importance of inter-agency collaboration in supporting smooth public service delivery at airports during monitoring of preparations for the Idul Fitri 2026 exodus and return movement at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten, on Thursday (12 March).
ORI member Hery Susanto stated that the airport service ecosystem involves numerous institutions with different functions but shares a common objective of providing the best public services to communities.
“An airport is an ecosystem comprising various institutions with different functions but with the same spirit: delivering the best public services to the community,” Hery said, as quoted from a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Friday.
Through the visit, he hopes that all parties involved in service delivery at Soekarno-Hatta Airport will continue to strengthen coordination and collaboration, ensuring that services to the public, particularly those travelling for Lebaran, operate safely, comfortably, and optimally.
The monitoring was conducted as part of public service oversight related to preparations for the 2026 Idul Fitri exodus and return movement, also attended by the Head of ORI’s Representative Office in Banten Province, Fadli Afriadi.
The visit was carried out with relevant parties including police, immigration, and airport operators.
Hery stressed that the activity aims to ensure the readiness of public services in the airport sector.
“We came to Soekarno-Hatta Airport to ensure that public services in this sector function properly, given that this is the Lebaran exodus period that will be followed by the return movement,” he said.
During the monitoring, he and his team conducted direct field checks to examine various service aspects, ranging from aircraft airworthiness, health services, to the readiness of airport infrastructure and supporting facilities.
“I also monitored directly at several passenger service points,” Hery added.
Previously, InJourney Aviation Services (IAS), the airport sub-holding operator in Indonesia, had deployed 15,400 combined personnel to provide services across 25 airports during the 2026 Lebaran/1447 Hijri Idul Fitri transport period.
“The total personnel mobilised was approximately 15,400 personnel for all IAS services during the 2026 Lebaran period,” said IAS Chief Executive Budi Setyawan Wijaya during a press conference in Tangerang, Banten, on Thursday (12 March).
He explained that the tens of thousands of service personnel deployed consist of ground handling and airport cleaning staff.
Additionally, the company has also prepared supporting equipment such as technological equipment, with operations prepared more thoroughly to handle this year’s Idul Fitri service delivery.
