OKI Condemns Violence by Israeli Settlers in the West Bank and Al-Aqsa Closure
The General Secretariat (Setjen) of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OKI) has strongly condemned the escalating violence carried out by Israeli extremist settler groups in the occupied West Bank region. The OKI described these actions as a form of organised terrorism occurring under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.
According to reports on Monday, 9 March 2026, a series of criminal acts including murder, incitement, and the expansion of illegal settlements have resulted in Palestinian casualties and injuries across various villages in the West Bank.
The OKI General Secretariat affirmed that these heinous crimes represent a continuation of Israel’s systematic occupation policies, which encompass the expulsion of residents, land annexation, and the construction of colonial settlements as an attempt to impose Israeli sovereignty over Palestinian territories.
“These actions constitute clear violations of international humanitarian law and various legitimate international resolutions in force,” stated the official OKI statement.
Beyond the situation in the West Bank, the OKI has also expressed serious concern regarding the closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli authorities. Muslim worshippers have reportedly been denied access for eight consecutive days.
The OKI characterised these actions as flagrant violations of the sanctity of holy places and fundamental rights to freedom of worship, describing them as a grave provocation against the feelings of Muslims worldwide.
The OKI General Secretariat warned that systematic attacks on the occupied city of Jerusalem will trigger new cycles of violence and tension that could destabilise the Middle East region.
The OKI reiterated its call to the international community to take immediate action to halt all ongoing violations in Palestinian territories in order to uphold international law.
