OJK Summons Mandiri Tunas Finance Regarding Debt Collector Violence
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) summoned PT Mandiri Tunas Finance (MTF) on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, regarding alleged acts of violence committed by debt collectors employed by MTF.
The Head of the OJK’s Financial Literacy, Inclusion, and Communication Department, M. Ismail Riyadi, stated that the summons was issued to request a complete clarification and explanation regarding the chronology of the incident, the parties involved, and the follow-up measures that have been and will be taken by the company.
“Based on the information obtained, the OJK is investigating the information provided by MTF in accordance with applicable regulations. If proven to have violated applicable regulations, the OJK will impose strict sanctions on MTF in accordance with the regulations,” as quoted from the information disclosure on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), Wednesday (February 25, 2026).
The OJK affirmed that the debt collection process by financial services institutions must be carried out in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, uphold ethics, and prioritize consumer protection. Violent acts in any form cannot be justified.
The OJK appeals to all financial services institutions to ensure that debt collection activities, including those carried out through third parties, are carried out professionally, comply with applicable regulations, and do not use intimidating or violent methods.
The OJK will continue to monitor the development of this case and take supervisory measures in accordance with its authority.
