January 2026 Islamic financing receivables rose 10.96 percent year-on-year to Rp31.05 trillion, according to the Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK). OJK Executive for Supervisory PVML Agusman said the positive intermediation performance of the Islamic finance industry is supported by higher Islamic financing by multifinance companies. ‘Islamic financing (by companies) multifinance shows a positive development. In January 2026, Islamic financing receivables rose 10.59 percent year-on-year to Rp30.87 trillion,’ he said in a formal statement received in Jakarta on Sunday. He noted that the largest disbursement came from murabahah-based sale-and-purchase financing, amounting to Rp19.29 trillion, or 62.48 percent of total funding. He assessed that the prospects for Sharia-based financing remain broad for continued growth, among others thanks to an adequate regulatory framework. ‘(The regulatory framework) enables product development through various Sharia contract schemes,’ he said.

Meanwhile, in the capital market sector, Acting Chair and Deputy Chair of the OJK Board Friderica Widyasari Dewi stated that the Indonesia Sharia Stock Index (ISSI) declined 5.09% year-to-date in February 2026 to 292.88. She said that the market capitalisation also fell from Rp8.55 quadrillion in January 2026 to Rp8.34 quadrillion in February 2026. Nevertheless, OJK noted that allocations to other investment instruments remained positive. Investments in government sukuk rose from Rp1.70 quadrillion in December 2025 to Rp1.72 quadrillion in January 2026 and remained unchanged in February 2026. Allocation to corporate sukuk also rose from Rp88.92 trillion in January 2026 to Rp90.57 trillion in February 2026. ‘Meanwhile, assets under management (AUM) of Sharia mutual funds grew 12.69 percent year-to-date to Rp94.03 trillion,’ said Friderica Widyasari Dewi.
