The Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) has announced the merger of four Rural Banks (BPR) in West Java. The four banks in the Priangan Timur region will merge into a single entity, namely PT BPR Nusamba Tanjungsari.

The merger is outlined in the Decree of the OJK Board of Commissioners No. KEP-15/D.03/2026 dated February 20, 2026. The four banks included in PT BPR Nusamba Tanjungsari are PT BPR Nusamba Sukaraja, PT BPR Nusamba Plered, PT BPR Nusamba Singaparna, and PT BPR Mitra Harmoni Indramayu.

“This merger is expected to produce a stronger, healthier BPR entity that can provide more innovative products and services to increase public trust,” said the Head of the Tasikmalaya OJK, Nofa Hermawati, in an official statement on Thursday, February 26, 2026.

The handover of the Merger Decree to the Management of PT BPR Nusamba Tanjungasari was held at the Tasikmalaya OJK Office. Nofa emphasized that the entire merger process has gone through the necessary stages in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. This includes an assessment of capital, governance, risk management, and consumer protection.

Through this merger, all rights and obligations of each merging bank will be transferred to PT BPR Nusamba Tanjungsari as the receiving entity. Customer transactions and services will also be transferred to this company.

According to the OJK, this merger is part of the ongoing consolidation of the banking industry. The aim is to strengthen capital, competitiveness, and the resilience of BPRs to support financing for the real sector, especially Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

The OJK noted that the performance of BPR/BPR Syariah in the Priangan Timur region during 2025 showed a positive trend. The assets of banks in the region grew by 3.81 percent year-on-year (yoy) to IDR 3.56 trillion. Meanwhile, third-party funds (DPK) increased by 2.71 percent to IDR 2.51 trillion, with credit growing by 5.62 percent to IDR 2.81 trillion.
