Basic services that the state is obligated to provide are the focus of readiness, particularly in the KIPP.

Penajam Paser Utara (ANTARA) - A number of health facilities in the Core Government Center Area (KIPP) of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) in Sepaku Subdistrict, Penajam Paser Utara Regency, East Kalimantan Province, are ready to serve civil servants (ASN) assigned to Indonesia’s new capital.

“Basic services that the state is obligated to provide are the focus of readiness, particularly in the KIPP,” said OIKN Director of Basic Services Suwito in Nusantara on Sunday, when asked about IKN’s readiness to welcome civil servants in Sepaku, Penajam Paser Utara.

A total of 16 ministries and state institutions are scheduled to conduct routine activities at the KIPP IKN located in Sepaku Subdistrict, Penajam Paser Utara Regency, as the government’s administrative center in phases throughout 2026.

“Health services and social security in IKN are ready for civil servants and the public,” he said.

“Currently, four hospitals are available in the KIPP, three of which are already operational and serving the public,” he added.

The three hospitals already operational are the Central General Hospital (RSUP) under the Ministry of Health, Mayapada Nusantara Hospital, and Hermina Nusantara Hospital.

“Bed availability in IKN reaches two to three beds per 1,000 residents, exceeding the national minimum standard of one bed per 1,000 residents,” he explained.

National Health Insurance (BPJS Kesehatan) services are available at Hermina Nusantara Hospital and Mayapada Nusantara Hospital, while Workers’ Social Security (BPJamsostek) services for workplace accidents and occupational diseases are accessible within the KIPP IKN area.

Suwito said disease and environmental control, stocking fish in retention ponds as natural predators of mosquito larvae, and public education are also carried out by the IKN Authority as part of the strategy to maintain the health of civil servants and IKN residents.
