Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Head of the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN), Basuki Hadimuljono, stated that area planning and development, along with the relocation of civil servants (ASN), are priority activities for 2026. Speaking during a meeting with Commission II of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday, Basuki noted that these priorities are outlined in OIKN’s Strategic Plan (Renstra) for 2025-2029. “To support the development of the Nusantara Capital, there are two priority activities: area development planning and ASN development,” he explained, detailing OIKN’s first set of priorities for the year. He elaborated that area planning and development in IKN includes, among other things, spatial arrangement of the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) and its surroundings, with a target built area of 850-1,100 hectares. Other priorities include constructing legislative and judicial buildings or offices; developing decent, affordable, and sustainable housing; and building supporting facilities and infrastructure such as drinking water management systems, domestic wastewater, and waste management. Accessibility and connectivity development is also a priority, encompassing road infrastructure, underground utility networks (MUT), and urban mass public transport services. Regarding ASN relocation, Basuki explained that according to the 2026 Government Work Plan (RKP) indicators and OIKN’s 2025-2029 Renstra, the number of ASN to be relocated to IKN is targeted between 1,700 and 4,100 people. On the other hand, implementing smart governance systems, including smart city information systems, digital ecosystem development, and licensing service systems, also forms part of OIKN’s first priorities. Meanwhile, OIKN’s second set of priorities for 2026 covers social development, economic superhubs, and environmental management. “This includes community economic empowerment, investment enhancement, economic superhub development, improving public welfare, forest and natural resource protection, disaster mitigation, and sustainable agricultural area development to support food security in IKN,” Basuki clarified.
