Officers Find Mobile Phone During Inmate Cell Search, Indramayu Prison Tightens Surveillance
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, INDRAMAYU – The staff of Indramayu Class IIB Penitentiary are further tightening surveillance to anticipate the entry of prohibited items. Several prohibited items are still being found inside the cells of inmates. To address this, Indramayu Penitentiary held a “Zero Halinar” (Handphone, Pungli, and Narkoba) pledge on Friday (8/5/2026). The activity was also accompanied by searches of inmate cells and urine tests. “Today, we are conducting a pledge for a clean penitentiary free from illegal handphones, drugs, and extortion,” said the Head of Indramayu Class IIB Penitentiary, Feri Berthoni. In the raid, penitentiary officers, along with police, military, and the National Narcotics Agency, combed through various residential blocks. As a result, officers found various prohibited items, ranging from plates to communication devices. “From the results of the joint raid as seen again, these are items or goods that have the potential to violate disciplinary rules. We are not hiding what was obtained; it is displayed here, such as plates, and also communication devices,” said Feri.
