PT Anugerah Samudera Madanindo (ASM) has strengthened its position as a pioneer in applying Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles in the maritime infrastructure sector. The company has earned Platinum in the Zero Accident category and the Safety and Health Executive Committee (P2K3) of the West Java Provincial Government.

This award was achieved for an extraordinary record of 1,200,622 safe work hours without a fatal accident from March 2023 to September 2025, while working on a national strategic project (PSN) that carries high operational risk.

Faris Muhammad Abdurrahim, the President Director of PT Anugerah Samudera Madanindo, stated that this achievement is a tangible manifestation of a corporate culture that places safety above all else.

“For us, occupational safety is part of social responsibility and good governance. Zero accident is not merely an operational target, but a moral commitment to ensure every worker returns home safely,” Faris said in a statement on Wednesday (4 March 2026).

This achievement is crucial given that ASM is currently advancing the development of Patimban Port Phase 2 (Phase 1-2). The project is one of the national logistics lifelines targeted for completion by the end of 2025.

Faris explained that the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (K3) within ASM is not merely about meeting regulatory obligations; it is an integrated system. This includes a speak-up safety culture and the courage to halt work if on-site conditions are deemed unsafe.

The development of Patimban Port itself is a strategic government move to reduce the burden on Tanjung Priok Port. With an investment in the vehicle terminal amounting to Rp3.7 trillion, the port is projected to have a vehicle terminal capacity of up to 600,000 CBU units and a Container Terminal capacity of 3.75 million TEUs (initial target) up to 7.5 million TEUs (long-term).

As of April 2025, construction progress was reported to have reached 78%. Patimban’s presence is expected to strengthen the connectivity of the Rebana Metropolitan industrial area through integrated toll road access.

“We believe that a good infrastructure project is not only completed on time but is also built to high safety standards and with transparent governance. That is the essence of sustainable development,” Faris concluded. (H-2)
