Nyepi Festival 2026 at Bundaran HI Today: Check Parade Route and Parking
JAKARTA – The Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta is staging the Nyepi Festival 2026 in the Bundaran HI area, Central Jakarta, on Sunday (8 March 2026).
The festival will be enlivened with an ogoh-ogoh parade traversing the Bundaran HI area and its surroundings.
Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, said he and the Deputy Governor of Jakarta, Rano Karno, will also attend the event.
In addition to the ogoh-ogoh procession, Bundaran HI will also be adorned with penjor. According to Pramono, the ogoh-ogoh parade and the installation of penjor at Bundaran HI are the first of their kind.
He said that cultural and religious diversity has become part of life in the capital city. Therefore, every religious celebration will be given space in Jakarta, known as a multietnik city.
“That shows that Jakarta’s diversity is part of our daily life. Jakarta is indeed multicultural, multiracial, and everyone must have a space to express what they believe,” he said.
For information, ogoh-ogoh are large statues usually in gargantuan form. The statues are made by the Hindu community and paraded around on the night before Nyepi.
Meanwhile, penjor is a long bamboo decorated with janur (young coconut leaves), coconut leaves, and various traditional ornaments. Penjor is usually placed in front of homes or Hindu temples as a symbol of gratitude and prosperity.
To support the activities, the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) has implemented traffic engineering in the Bundaran HI area up to the National Monument (Monas).
Head of Dishub DKI Jakarta, Syafrin Liputo, said the traffic arrangements were made to ensure the festival proceeds smoothly.
The parade for the Nyepi Festival will traverse several major thoroughfares in the city centre with the following route:
Dishub has also prepared several alternative routes for motorists passing near the event site.
