Nutrition Service Unit in Sanggau Temporarily Closed Following Salary Dispute Between Head and Staff
The operational activities of the Nutrition Service Unit (SPPG) Kapuas Sungai Sengkuang in Sanggau District, West Kalimantan, have been temporarily halted. The closure was ordered following a dispute between the SPPG head and staff regarding the salary payment system.
According to detikKalimantan on Tuesday, 17 March 2026, Agus Kurniawi, Regional MBG Programme Coordinator for West Kalimantan, stated that the operational suspension was implemented pending the outcomes of further investigations. The operational halt was outlined in letter number 963/D.TWS/03/2026 dated 15 March 2026, issued by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN).
“The operations of the Sungai Sengkuang SPPG kitchen have been temporarily suspended until the inspection process is completed and the management organisation at that location is confirmed to comply with MBG programme requirements,” said Agus.
The decision to temporarily suspend operations was made following a report filed by the Head of SPPG Sanggau Kapuas Sungai Sengkuang on 14 March 2026. The report concerned management problems and alleged provocation of volunteers regarding the salary system, which is paid in lump sums during MBG menu distributions.
Susana Herpena, Chair of the Sanggau MBG Acceleration Task Force and Deputy Regent of Sanggau, stated that numerous volunteers and SPPG employees complained of not having received their salaries. According to Susana, approximately 20 people approached her to lodge complaints regarding unpaid or incorrectly calculated wages.
“Last Saturday, around 20 employees came to me claiming they had not been paid or their salaries were incorrect. They were challenged by the SPPG Head, telling them to report to the Task Force Chair if they wished to lodge complaints,” she said.
