A number of students from SMA Taruna Nusantara in Magelang, Cimahi, and Malang visited the Palace. They received a briefing from State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi and Foreign Minister Sugiono.

This activity is part of the ‘Palace for School Children’ programme initiated by President Prabowo Subianto. While at the Presidential Palace Complex, the students were invited to directly experience the centre of government while also learning about the long journey of the nation.

They did not only hear explanations but also directly viewed the rooms that have long been witnesses to important national decision-making.

In his speech, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi conveyed that President Prabowo believes the key to the nation’s progress lies in the quality of human resources and education. Pras emphasised the importance of awareness of consequences in achieving aspirations.

“If you want a chemistry score of 10 or 100, you must be aware, you must study, you can’t not study. Whatever you want to join the TNI, join the Police, you must be aware of the consequences. You must study, you must be strong in running, you learn those requirements or tests,” said Pras in his statement, quoted by the Presidential Secretariat Bureau, Thursday (16/4/2026).

Pras conveyed that the students are the selected generation with great responsibility towards the nation. “From today until we breathe our last breath, engrave in your heart that you are indeed selected and chosen to serve the nation, state, and Indonesian people,” he said.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Sugiono reminded the importance of sensitivity to the environment. He advised the students not to be apathetic.

“Don’t be apathetic, know your environment, know your left and right. If necessary, you know how many leaves are on the tree in front of the gate. To that extent, details like that,” said Sugiono.

Closing the series of activities, he invited the students to dare to dream as high as possible. The students were encouraged not only to dream but also to write them down as personal commitments.

“Make what you get while in the Merdeka Palace environment as an inspiration for you,” he said.

“Dream as high as possible, don’t limit it, while you’re dreaming, go ahead. Because everything starts from a dream. All success starts from a dream,” he continued.
