The Cirebon City Transportation Agency in West Java recorded 3,264 vehicles passing through the city’s North Coast Route (Pantura) per hour on Tuesday (24/3) night, coinciding with the rising return flow of Eid al-Fitr 2026. Head of the Cirebon City Transportation Agency, Andi Armawan, in Cirebon on Tuesday, stated that based on monitoring from 00.00 to 20.00 WIB, the number of vehicles heading towards Jakarta on that route reached 78,343 units. “This condition indicates the high mobility of the public returning to their hometowns after celebrating Eid al-Fitr,” he said. He explained that out of the total vehicles, motorcycles dominated the traffic flow on that route, reaching 68,364 units. He mentioned that vehicle movement on Cirebon City’s Pantura Route is currently experiencing an increase compared to the previous day’s traffic flow of around 63,024 units, or about 2,626 units per hour. According to Andi, the increase in vehicle volume is occurring alongside the start of the return movement of those going home for Eid, heading back to their workplaces. He noted that this year’s Eid return flow is estimated to occur in two waves, with the first wave of returns predicted to last until tonight. The Cirebon City Transportation Agency continues to monitor and manage traffic at several points, particularly on arterial routes that are one of the crucial points for vehicle movement in the Pantura area. They advise the public undertaking return journeys to remain cautious, comply with traffic rules, and follow the directions of officers on the ground.
