NTT Police Narcotics Division Director Accused of Extortion Racket Against Drug Dealers
The East Nusa Tenggara Police (Polda NTT) has exposed an extortion scheme allegedly conducted by Narcotics Directorate Commander (Dirresnarkoba) Kombes Ardiyanto Tejo Baskoro together with six subordinates against two drug dealers suspected of distributing poppers, namely Jefri Hutasoit and Sutardi Finata. The two suspects were extorted into depositing Rp375 million.
The six members allegedly involved are AKP Hadi Samsul Bahri (HSB), Ipda BB, Aipda Oryanto Toni (OT), Brigadir AI, Briptu LBM, and Bripda JG. AKP Hadi Samsul Bahri has now been transferred to the Legal and Disciplinary Division (Yanma) of Polda NTT from his previous position as Operations Chief at Ngada Police Station.
“That is all I obtained from the Professional Standards Division of Polda NTT — the modus operandi involved asset negotiations or bargaining over the detention period of suspects,” stated Kombes Henry Novika Chandra, Public Relations Chief of Polda NTT, to detikBali on Sunday (15 March 2026).
Henry explained that through this abuse of authority modus operandi, the ongoing investigation process has been significantly hampered, and the progression to the second stage of case documentation to the East Nusa Tenggara High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati) has also been delayed.
“Thus, in the course of this investigation, allegations of abuse of authority have emerged involving one senior commissioned officer together with six investigating assistant members in the Narcotics Directorate of Polda NTT,” Henry clarified.
As of the publication of this report, Kombes Ardiyanto had not responded to confirmation requests regarding his involvement in the extortion case. His personal WhatsApp number remains read but unresponded.
For context, on 25 March 2025, Polda NTT designated three poppers dealers in Kupang City as suspects and detained them for 20 days at Polda NTT headquarters. However, precisely on 16 July 2025, all three were released and sent home after Polda NTT failed to fulfil the Public Prosecutor’s instructions before the detention deadline expired.
