The Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) of the NTB Provincial Police showcased Rp 2.8 billion in cash from a corruption case concerning the procurement of furniture by the NTB Education and Culture Office (Dikbud) in 2022 for SMKs in NTB. Deputy Head of Ditreskrimsus NTB Provincial Police, AKBP Wendy Andrianto, stated that the Rp 2.8 billion represents state losses returned by one of the suspects, initialled MJ, who was the supplier. “The money returned by the suspect has been seized by us,” Wendy said on Tuesday (5/5/2026). MJ is a suspect alongside the former Head of Infrastructure for the SMK Sector at NTB Dikbud, who also served as the commitment-making official (PPK), initialled KS. The files for both suspects have been declared complete (P-21) by the prosecutors. Today, both suspects and the evidence will be handed over to the prosecutors. “The money returned by the suspect has been seized and will be handed over along with other evidence in stage II,” he explained. Wendy detailed that the furniture procurement project was for 40 SMKs in NTB. The budget came from the 2022 special allocation funds (DAK), with a total allocation of Rp 10.2 billion. During the investigation, investigators found several irregularities in the procurement, including the failure to prepare technical specifications and conduct price surveys, full payment for work despite it not being completed, and the diversion of part of the work to other parties not in accordance with the contract. The state loss of Rp 2.8 billion is based on calculations by the NTB Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP). The suspects are charged under Article 2 paragraph (1) and/or Article 3 and Article 18 of Law No. 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 on amendments to Law No. 31 of 1999 on the eradication of criminal acts of corruption, in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) first of the Criminal Code or Articles 603 and/or 604 in conjunction with Article 20 of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code.
