NTB Attorney General's Office Pursues Assets Worth Billions in MXGP Land Case
The West Nusa Tenggara Attorney General’s Office (Kejati NTB) is tracing assets allegedly related to a case of gratifications and money laundering (TPPU) stemming from the corruption investigation into the procurement of land for the MXGP Circuit in the Samota area, Sumbawa Island. Assistant Public Prosecutor Muh. Zulkifli Said in Mataram on Wednesday stated that the office has deployed a special team to conduct asset tracing alongside field investigations. “Our team is currently in Sumbawa for the investigation,” he said. He explained that the team comprises members from the special crimes division and asset recovery unit. In addition to tracing assets, the team is also examining several related parties to uncover the flow of funds in the case. “So, there are examinations and asset tracing. Essentially, we are carrying out the investigation process,” he stated. Zulkifli said that the results of the field tracing will be submitted to the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK) for further analysis. During the investigation phase, the prosecutor’s office has conducted searches at two National Land Agency (BPN) offices, namely in Sumbawa Regency and Central Lombok Regency. These searches relate to the role of suspect Subhan in the main case of land procurement. “The value is estimated to reach billions of rupiah,” Zulkifli said. In the main case of the MXGP Samota Circuit land procurement, investigators have named three suspects: Subhan and two members of the land valuation team. According to investigators, the three suspects violated Article 603 and/or Article 604 in conjunction with Article 20 letter a or c of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code, joined with Article 18 of Law No. 20 of 2001 on Amendments to Law No. 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Corruption Crimes.
