Nottingham Forest defender Neco Williams says his side intend to snatch three points at Manchester City’s home ground ahead of the clubs’ English Premier League clash in the 2025/2026 season at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, on Thursday (5 March) in the early hours of Western Indonesian Time (WIB).

‘Manchester City are an incredible team, but we have beaten them before. Our target is to go there and try to secure three points—that’s the minimum standard. We have a game plan we must execute, and hopefully we can come home with three points,’ Williams said, quoted from Nottingham Forest’s official website, on Tuesday.

The Welsh international added that Forest would give maximum effort despite not having much time to prepare, having only played on Sunday (1 March) against Brighton & Hove Albion.

In that last match, Forest lost 1-3. Williams emphasised that this would prompt them to thoroughly review their performances.

According to the 24-year-old, Forest continues to address their shortcomings to perform at their best when facing Manchester City.

‘We must not dwell on the defeat. We should set it aside, take the positives, evaluate, then fix the shortcomings. There are still 10 matches remaining and many points to play for. We must keep moving and stay confident,’ Williams said.

Nottingham Forest continue to push to pull away from the relegation zone of the 2025/2026 Premier League. They are currently 17th in the table with 27 points from 28 games, only two points above West Ham United in 18th or the bottom three.

Meanwhile Manchester City sit second in the table with 59 points from 28 matches, five points behind leaders Arsenal (64 points from 29).
